The Carn Davidson 9, consisting of an all-star lineup of solo players, is co-led by JUNO-award-winning trombonist William Carn and saxophonist Tara Davidson.

This unique 9-piece ensemble consists of 7 wind instruments underpinned by bass and drums with no chordal instrument, meaning they have to create and balance the harmonies amongst themselves, in some ways like an acapella choir.

This concert is a sneak peek into CD9's 4th upcoming album, which will be released at the end of 2024.

Featuring a jazz suite composed by Tara, inspired by her favourite saxophonists Joshua Redman and Christine Jensen and a second suite composed by William, inspired by Brazilian composers Antonio Carlos Jobim and Hermeto Pascoal.
